Publicity Officer

The Publicity Officer is responsible for promoting the Club and enhancing its reputation within the athletics community and the wider public. The role works closely with the Committee, Website Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator to communicate the Club's activities, achievements and opportunities to members, supporters, sponsors and the community.

The Publicity Officer serves as the primary media and communications contact for the Club and helps ensure that members and stakeholders remain informed and engaged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the activities, achievements and services of the Club.

  • Coordinate media opportunities and develop positive relationships with local media and community organisations.

  • Prepare articles, media releases and other promotional material.

  • Work with the Website Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator to ensure consistent and effective communication across all channels.

  • Keep sponsors and key stakeholders informed of Club activities and achievements.

  • Assist in promoting Club events, championships and representative opportunities.

  • Provide a report for inclusion in the Club's Annual Report.

Communications and Promotion

The Publicity Officer plays an important role in:

  • Identifying and promoting stories that celebrate members and volunteers.

  • Supporting the growth and profile of the Club within the community.

  • Liaising with Committee Members regarding communication opportunities.

  • Encouraging member engagement and promoting a positive image of the Club.

  • Supporting the development of partnerships with sponsors and community organisations.
