Vice President

The Vice President supports the President and Executive Committee in providing leadership and effective governance for the Club. The role assists in ensuring the Club achieves its objectives, meets its legal and constitutional obligations, and provides a positive experience for members.

In addition to supporting the overall operation of the Club, the Vice President serves as Chairperson of the Winter Cross Country Committee and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Club's Winter season activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the President and Executive Committee in the management and administration of the Club.

  • Assist Committee members in the discharge of their duties and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.

  • Act on behalf of the President when required and assume the responsibilities of the President during periods of absence.

  • Chair Committee meetings, Annual General Meetings and Special General Meetings when the President is unavailable.

  • Raise matters of concern with the President and assist in resolving issues affecting the Club.

  • Endorse correspondence, reports and other Club documentation as appropriate.

  • Assist in the development of partnerships with Athletics NSW, other clubs, sponsors and funding organisations.

  • Support grant applications and other initiatives approved by the Committee.

  • Undertake other duties as determined by the President or Committee.

Winter Cross Country Responsibilities

As Chairperson of the Winter Cross Country Committee, the Vice President:

  • Provides leadership and coordination for the Club's Winter Cross Country season.

  • Chairs meetings of the Winter Cross Country Committee.

  • Coordinates the planning and delivery of Club Cross Country events.

  • Oversees relay team selections and other representative opportunities during the Winter season.

  • Coordinates volunteers and resources required for Cross Country events.

  • Responds to member enquiries relating to the Winter season.

  • Liaises with Athletics NSW regarding Winter competition matters when required.

  • Provides regular updates to the Executive Committee on Winter season activities.
